Hi, I'm Eugene 👋
I'm an engineering leader with 15+ years building and operating large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems at Atlassian, Microsoft, Spotify, and Booking.com – including 10+ years managing engineers and managers across globally distributed, matrixed organizations.
I bring experience working with people around the world from every continent, enjoy connecting synergies and creating awesome tech. I've lived in 4 countries: Ukraine, Netherlands, Sweden and Canada before calling USA - Seattle, WA home. Here I explore Pacific coast with my wife and 2 energetic kids, that always up to travel a next trip to explore a hike, jump to a bike, enjoy a run or navigate a kayak to see a next alligator ;)

- Strategy and roadmaps. Defined and executed multi-year technical roadmaps and architectural strategy across 6–15 teams, aligning Engineering, Product, and TPM stakeholders through Requests for Comments, design reviews, and shared platform standards.
- Hands-on technologist. TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Python; experienced with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, MySQL; comfortable with distributed systems work and agentic / MCP automation.
- AI-driven impact. Shipped MCP-based incident response (–30% Time To Resolve), LLM-powered search with eval pipelines, and AI-assisted code generation (+20% productivity).
- Data-driven operator. OKRs, SLOs, A/B testing, and DORA metrics to drive engineering decisions; led an Elite DORA program covering 500+ engineers at Atlassian.
- People leader. Hiring, mentoring managers and senior ICs, and running blame-free post-incident cultures.
